Highlights from This Year's Ride
It was a beautiful sunny day in September for this year's Ride for Youth. Again this year our ride included four riding options: a Century Bicycle Ride (100 miles), a Metric Century (65 miles), a Motorcycle Ride and a Family Ride on the Western Maryland Rail Trail. We hosted 58 bicycles and 45 motorcycles and raised approximately $11,000 for Cedar Ridge.
This year's Family Ride was the Lloyd W. Clarke Memorial Bicycle Ride dedicated to the memory of an avid cyclist from Hagerstown that was killed while riding his bicycle in Nevada in 2007. A brief dedication ceremony was held at 11 a.m. in his honor at Hancock where a bench was placed in Lloyd's memory by the Cumberland Valley Cycle Club.
